Oct 17 2008 Gas Station owner fined - Really?? I made the mistake of reading the local newspaper this morning and it has sent me into this tirade. The gist of the article was that a local gas station owner was being fined by code enforcement for creating a traffic hazard by lowering his gas prices too low. The article said that it was causing traffic to back up onto a main street and car owners were stopping and getting into fights etc. I am sorry but can we not hold the #$$% people who were actually committing the infractions and bad acts responsible. I mean come on an individual can see that the lot is full and choose to not stop, or circle the block until there is an available spot. So what if I price a house too low, and too many people show up at the same time, causing a nuissance in the neighborhood - will I be fined next? Seems a little ridiculous. I still think this is America. Pricing should be a free enterprise and people should be able to decide for themselves if they can stop or not!!
